What Trust Flow measures
Majestic Trust Flow is a 0–100 model of link quality built from trusted seed sites and the relationships between pages. DomDetailer returns it as majesticTF. It is a provider score, not a statement from Google about a domain.
Read it alongside Citation Flow, the number of referring domains and the subject of those links. A score can help order a large candidate list; it cannot tell you whether an expired domain still has useful live links or whether its previous purpose fits your project.
What is a good Trust Flow?
Start with a comparison group: domains in the same topic, of a similar kind, measured at the same level. A local community resource and a national news website need different expectations. A single pass mark would hide that difference.
Build a small reference set of sites you already consider relevant. Check their TF and CF together, then look at where your candidates sit within that range. Keep the lookup date with the export. Changes between index updates are a reason to recheck the evidence, not proof that the site's content improved or deteriorated.
For an auction shortlist, a useful rule is procedural: require a plausible explanation for the score before bidding. Visit several referring pages, confirm the links still lead somewhere useful and compare the topical categories with your intended use.
An example of two different profiles
Illustrative values, not current domain results: candidate A has TF 18 and CF 24; candidate B has TF 18 and CF 62. Their identical TF should not make them equivalent purchases.
A's ratio is 0.75. B's is about 0.29. B deserves a closer look at what accounts for the much larger CF: many repeated links, a broad audience, historic publicity or something less useful. The ratio alone cannot choose between those explanations.
Now add topic and evidence. If A's remaining links come from relevant editorial pages and B's come from unrelated directory pages, that review matters more than the tie on TF. If the links are no longer live, neither score establishes value today.
Check Trust Flow across a list
- Prepare unique bare hostnames and keep the original auction row beside them.
- Run the bulk DA, PA and Trust Flow checker.
- Compare TF with CF and Topical Trust Flow; set review priorities rather than deleting every low-scoring candidate.
- Use the bulk backlink checker on the shortlist to inspect sources, targets and anchors.
- Save the results and your reasons for retaining each candidate.
1,000 unique successful requests consume 1,000 credits. That is about $0.79–$1.36 in consumed credit value at the current pack rates. Credits are bought in packs: the entry pack is $34 for 25,000 credits. This is not a $0.79 checkout option. Compare the current DomDetailer credit packs.
Questions
Does a higher Trust Flow guarantee better rankings?
No. It is a Majestic link model. Content, query relevance, current links and many other factors still need assessment.
Can I compare page TF with domain TF?
Compare like with like. Page, subdomain and domain scores describe different scopes; a comparison should use the same scope and index context.
